i appreciate several of your passions for the 355, but to me it's the 360's smooth and flared looks that's the only one I would consider. I think it looks timeless and will (and has) age very well.
I agree with that, I love the shape of the 360, personally I find the 355 a bit bland.

355 was the last beautiful Ferrari ... 360,430,458 have all aged really quickly IMO

    599 however is very classy

and yes, pop ups win ....

    Lol! Which bit looks aged?

The CS is a little more, but a 'regular' 360 can be adjusted somewhat

That's the last time I say how much I like your subtley "modded" NSX Paul!!! ;-)

I have to say a 355 was on my list however the 360 to me just got that much better looking when the chips were down and I got serious. The interior is so much better than the 355, it;s not as if we don't get enough stick for the "dated" interior on the NSX! (Which I think has stood the test of time incredabiley well) it just felt a nicer place to sit IMHO

It took me a few months before I really started to think that I had done the right thing, then something happened, maybe I started to understand the characteristics of the car more, but the smile factor was huge, the noise (ok, living only 15 miles from the Hindhead tunnel helps) is awsome, especially with exhaust valves open all the time. Ride, steering and feedback is very responsive, the more I drive it the better it gets.

Just had my second Anual service, this time I went main dealer route as I had a few problems with a specialist (still have one on going issue with them) not only did I get a loan car for the best part of a week (not an option with two local speacialist service centres) they were also £130.00 cheaper!! same work was quoted for by both parties, so happy days. £650.00 for anual service, when you see what gets done it does make you lol, but I did reseach before hand so I knew what was coming.

I went for Manual otpion and it suits me, didn't try an F1 box, that can come next.

Not sure if the above helps, the two cars are very different in so many ways and I still enjoying both, just depends if I want pop ups or fixed lights! o, and go faster red is the only way to go! LOL I guess I can always get it wrapped to S2NSX standards (Paul, at least you know I like the wrap)

Longest post I have ever done, need to go out now, if you want any more info drop me a line always happy to talk cars

    Cheers

Hi Paul ... I wondered what would get you to the keyboard, lol

Good to know you learning your new toy and the Hindhead Tunnel runs could be a great excuse for mini-meet

Take care and see you soon

    regards, Paul

The point I was making is that since the 355, the cars have lost the beauty from the design and in so doing have lost that timeless quality some designs offer. Noise aside they are not for me head turners in the way a 599 would catch my eye. I see plenty of the various models on the run into town during the summer. 355 & 599 stand out for different reasons.

The thing that 'ages' the 458 is the over-styling of the car ... tall lights, too many 'functional' gaps in the bodywork, 3 exhaust tips (Why on a V8???), Halfrauds alloys and then retro 355 mirrors mounted on the the doorskin like the NSX ... what was wrong with the elegant 360 / 430 mirrors?

I guess its good we are not all the same, but I do beleive ferrari should bring back beautiful design .... or at least classic and timeless so that they dont age immediately.

We agree on the F355 but not the 599. Styling is too fussy and it's waay too big.

I much prefer the 550/575. It's still a big old bus but the shape is far more delicate to my eyes. I tried a 550 about 8yrs ago when I saw them drop below £50K. I remember it feeling big from the drivers seat, softer than I expected, comfortable and very long legged. I took it up the A3, from the Cobham entry/exit. Nice but I'd take still go for the the F355 if I had a Fezza itch to scratch... which I don't

    Cheers
