    As always, nicely done, Jonathan.

On our NSX, one of the worst bracket to get corrosion is the one holding the four orange connectors for the ABS solenoid located just in front of the ABS modulator.
Quite often, I have problem releasing the connectors from the bracket in order to activate the solenoid manually. I think you already painted it in the past.

By the way, for the parts page on Lings website, once you reached the diagram showing the parts you want, just delete the text ' _pfk ' from the address bar (remember to delete the ' _ ' underscore as well) and you will get the proper Honda Parts No. instead of Lings in-house parts system no. PFK****.

Saves having to add it to the shopping trolley to see the Honda part #.

i re-did the ABS connector bracket, just to complete the set...

and after a sand blast to remove the old paint and rust, etch prime and a coat of silver!

whilst i was under the bonnet, i decided the abs pump bracket and motor cover need attention, so just wondered how much a new one is, just to save turn around time and keep the car on the road.... £213 for a piece of bent metal... i don't think so! so later i'll be removing it, blasting it and seeing how it looks! if it's too bad i'll make anew one out of stainless!

anyway, the replacement vtec seals arrived from rockauto, in a nice box......

nothing quite like a bit of overkill...

in turn, the vtec assemblies were removed and the solenoids unbolted from the housing....

the small seal is shot as i've never touched it, the bigger seal is ok as i replaced that already and is still flexible and round in section, but i renewed all just to make sure!

the seals were prised out, the units given a blast of brake cleaner and new ones fitted (i forgot to do a before pic, but remembered for the second one!!!

anyway, here's the difference between old and new. the old was crushed flat, had the feeling of hard plastic, rather than nice new rubber!

here's the pic of the second unit, the rubber seal crushed and hardened, not a lot of sealing potential...

here's the new seal in place, quite obvious the difference now!

anyway, fingers crossed i've found the oil leak!

another clue, i now realise, was that a void in the top if the vtec housing, under the solenoid flange, had oil in it when i removed the solenoid. obvious now as the void is outside the sealed area!

the square 'hole' at the bottom of this pic!

now the evenings have drawn in, and its cold dark and nasty, i finally got around to a mini-mod/addition to the NSX

i have (hopefully) a pretty engine, but it's a bit dark to show off in anything other than bright light, so i thought, to be a bit tarty AND make maintenance checks of a gloomy evening easier, i'd add a little light on the matter

using a DRL that i'd bought as a sample, i put a plan into action!

the DRL is a cob (chip-on-board) LED array, so is very thin and slightly flexible, and thinner when you take it out of its weather housing! i put in a little bend and stuck this to the underside of the engine cover at the back return edge, to keep it subtle and stealth!

    a bit closer....

(excuse the rough black edge, i've tidied that up!)

the wire was routed under the edge trim, around to the cover hinge area, and down into the engine bay near the air filter. a simple push on/off switch was mounted and the supply wire routed to the fuse box where a spare fuse position and a simple connection fashioned to provided fused power!

a press of the switch and it's on....
