Thread: OEM Pipes or something altogether beefier.....?

Default OEM Pipes or something altogether beefier.....?

I am not a fan of the Oval standard fit pipes on older cars. I opted for Hayward & Scott custom back (cat back) box.

Sounds now complement the looks - nice low rumble and an awesome GT Race Car bellow on VTEC. Sounds like it should IMO.

    Cheers

I agree, the standard pipes are pretty weedy. I'm saving up for a Taitec GT lightweight. Not as expensive as a Tubi or a Gruppe M but apparently quite well made and a good sound.

I notice on Prime that there's an exhaust sound effects thread.

    plus this:

and for good measure this plus a DF Air Scoop:

That is how IMHO the NSX should sound.

AR, how has the filter affected the ECU? Have you rolling roaded it to check fueling?

    Rob,

There did not seem to be any ill effects from it.

What (if any) positive effects have you seen from it?

    Three things come to mind:

The revs climb faster, the V-Tec transition is more noticeable, almost like a turbo coming on, and the sound is great.

Is that the Gruppe M induction filter kit?......looks fantastic, and is tempting me more and more to go down that route rather than the 57i kit.
