you are correct Kaz. Same connector in the boot had another broken centre plate on another wire

last year i cleaned the sensor and checked it with a multimeter and it was working ok. when i put it back in the car there were no more errors.
so i assumed the sensor had a an intermittent fault....

Just came back from work and all four abs sensors have turned up...
