Is this the lowest priced NC1 so far on the market???

I saw this NC1 parked up amongst all the other run of the mill exotica outside Romans showroom in the pouring rai.
Like all the other beautiful cars that don't make the grade to get displayed in their amazing hypercar showroom it just sits outside night and day under what ever the elements throw at it.
I just had to stop and give it a good look over, so asking a sales guy if I could sit in it he just gave me the keys after taking mine and said feel free, while he stayed in the showroom.
Left unattended I then opened it up, climbed in, (it had a very damp atmosphere feel to it inside) and after a couple of minutes I decided to fire it up.
The saleman soon came out and asked if I would like to go for a test drive on a day it wasn't raining so hard to which I said that would be good.
He told me that it was taken in p/x against a GT3 as he didn't like to "stand out" in the crowd too much.
I can't help thinking that these NC1's, although well made, really don't like living outside permanently in our weather so I do hope it finds a home soon.

Saxtons have two 2017 white ones for the same money as well, so seems to be where the market is at. All of them with negligible mileage!
I wonder how much they would actually sell for, sub £80K has got to be getting close and how much for one that has actually been used?

Come springtime we’ll be able to drive and simply swap our NA for an NC ,,, maybe even with cash back :D

Would love to experience one, even run one for a while, but not sure it would have the long term appeal of the NA series ...

Any NC owners care to chip in on the usability and thoughts about long term ownership, i.e., do you intend to keep like NA owners have?

Drove past it yesterday, certainly the cheapest I've seen. Not sure about the Curva red, otherwise I would have taken it home ��

I really don’t understand why what is reported to be such a great drivers car has fallen like this ... support, original market positioning, price, network, image ... all of the above??

My view is that in sadly too many cases, the car was sold to people that had no interest in the car, just an interest in having the "new thing". As there will always be many "new things" in the future, they will be traded-in after a relatively short period of time, simply to acquire the next "new thing".
Depending on your viewpoint, this is either a great example of freedom of choice, or rampant consumerism.

The real problem is the complexity of todays cars and their unexpected costs of ownership. Combined with the inflationary amount of new models on the market modern cars became consumables.

Another cheap NC1.....2017 car with only 2000 miles and lots of C/F bits and bobs.

Colour perhaps more to your more sophisticated tastes Simon?!

So if we take the BMW I8 first, a 2016 car with 10k miles your looking at about £50k, so 50% less than new.
Mclaren, a 2016 570s will set you back between £90 and £100k so between 63% and 69% less than new.
The NSX, one 2016 model for sale at £87k so 63% less than new.

So has it fallen, my answer would be no. It's just where the market is right now for these cars, if you take a 2016 911 Turbo they have appeared to have faired better (not lost so much money) but you don't know if a car has only £5k worth of extras or £25k!

By any sensible measure, of course it has fallen/depreciated, retaining ~60-odd% of new price.

I guess the point is, has it fallen disproportionately to other cars in class? To which the answer could reasonably be 'no'.

Well, if you take a look at the german market situation, the prices are quite high.
Start with 138.000 Euro for a (rent) car with 43.000 km, not sure how many drivers were involved and ends with 219.000 Euro for a nearly new car, but not eith the highest or newest specs.

From what I have observed, UK cars priced at 85k are selling, those priced at 150k are not (that one has been listed for many, many months...).
At some point in the future, depending on what Honda brings to the marketplace, the price of a used NC1 may start to climb, but I doubt that it will ever climb back to 150k.
The bubble price of the NA2 cars seems to have come to a halt - not much is selling at the prices of a couple of years ago, maybe because the NC1 is selling in a similar range...

There's a so-called 'junior-problem' regarding sportcars or cars in general. High asking prices won't solve this either. They really struggle to sell them.

At that asking price there could be many lining up for the experience ... but remember, this I understand is a DEALER ONLY maintenance car and you can be very sure that Honda wont have dropped the cost of maintenance by 60% in line with the forecourt prices ...

So, aside from parts if you prang it or something goes bang (which will be understandably expensive), what are year to year running costs really like on these...I guess I'm really asking about servicing and extended warranty? They now sit in a similar price window as the McLaren MP4 12C (yes, the McLaren will be a good bit older) one of the few cars which I hanker after.

At the risk of thread drift, I've seen a couple of ambitiously priced NA2s recently, not from backstreet dealers but from 'oracle' locations. Plans has W1NSX (NA2 red pre-facelift coupe) up for £86k and Lister Classics has a facelift (not sure if it's a 'last 12') up for £140k....just shy of what they have a 2013 458 up for! Neither NSX is super low mileage either: driver rather than collector cars.

Plans also look to have sold the blue last 12 model recently: that was up for £95k.

Now asking and selling prices are two different things but I was surprised by all of these, given recent trends.

I would suspect that the typical buyer of a c £100k NC1 and a similarly priced NA2 are somewhat different.

Ian, there are couple of owners of 12C’s on here .. I believe you may want to sit down before they share running costs ... 12C for me is the more natural successor to the original NSX ...

I also agree that the 12C is a more appealing car in many ways. If the NC1 wasn't a Honda a suspect I'd barely give it a second glance, but as I have owned an example of most Honda's with some sporting intent, it does have an attraction - hence my question about NC1 running costs.
