Yes probably a FAQ but I cant see how to set e mail notifications on my drop down list of options. In other words I would like to set it so I get an e mail if someone replies to my post. Obviously I am missing something here?

Same here, no email.
Go to Settings>Subscriptions and tick the box next to the thread you wish to receive the notification for.
What about private messages? I used to get e-mail notifications (some years ago) but now I don't. It all seems to be enabled - What e-mail address do the notifications come from so I can add it to my address book?
Just sent you a PM Ed, I'd check your junk mail folder and it will most likely be in there. All your settings look fine otherwise.
