ozon02 - NSX story
Disappointing story
This year I have done some modifications - like this: Os giken Clutch, Os giken LSD with 4.40 final ratio and Tein shock absorbers.
I bought a track day in the Czech Republic - Motodrom and in Slovakia - Slovakia Ring
I booked the hotel I persuaded my wife and sent the kids on holiday. I ordered a tow truck and got on the road ...
My NSX refused to cooperate - entering the tow truck came fail EPS, # 22 reset with the clock fuse. I started the engine EPS lamp went out and thought it was OK. But by turning the steering wheel, the EPS light shone again with the same fail # 22.
I only had 2 hours to repair - later my trip made no sense.
Has my NSX offended me for modificatioons ?
Kaaz described the fault for my driver model (..... 023) burned relay contacts.
I ordered this in the USA with enlarged contacts (delivered time approx. 2 weeks).
On the web I suspect that the pins are in line with the standards. I decided to put another - from the Renault 70 Amper- (it does not like you Kaaz?
Unfortunately, a diode was inserted in the trigger circuit. I missed the direction of the diode and damaged the transistor - it took me 6 hours to find this fault.

It was difficult to solder the relay - I made a special tip

I dismantled the relay housing - one of the lower corners was burnt contacts the second as newAttachment 13060 Attachment 13061

I measured the resistance of the coils (OEM and aftermarket) and compared with the catalog.Attachment 13065
Attachment 13062 Attachment 13063
The aftermarket Relay was larger by 30mA. The coil transistor was on 1 Amper Current ( Catalog)
But the difference in contact area was satisfactory

It's late (I'm going to sleep) but one question bother me - why the other of the relays (the good ones) during the switch vibrate the contacts (3-4 stroke)
Regards
Mario
P.S.A little anger passes me

Next occurence (frustrating) with the Air Condition Panel - reading the blog Kaaz noticed that he often repairs the AC Panel. Two years ago I bought from the USA (Prime)as a reserve.
And my checked - no leakage capacitors. I thought it did not concern me. This year I bought from Chritian ATR only Front panel witch Celsius (We were Acura in Farenheit). When the ACC panel was opened - I nearly fainted - four capacitors poured out. It's a lesson for me that I ignored the Kaaz hints (absolutely replace all the capacitors). Now please Kaaz as far as possible which electronic components I should still check.
In one year coincided - only faults !!!(clutch,EPS,ACC Panel)My Acura is 1996.
P.S.
During the rapid acceleration I noticed misfire in exhaust(This is the cause of the change final ratio to 4,40) ?

All cars need some attention after 20 years. As they equipped the NSX with quite a lot of electronics more things need to be addressed after these years. I don't dare to imagine todays rolling computers after even 10 years. When they will be exported to Africa all the electronics will be ripped out of the car. Ok, a little bit OT. :)
Well, 20 years for a CCU is not bad at all, they normally begin to fail after 12-15 years or so (with the quality of caps they used originally). You need to replace ALL caps. And that's better done BEFORE the unit shows suspicious signs.

Yes you are right.
I also gave the valve covers to this factory - but unfortunately I did not get the original effect.

(I spent a lot of hours working on cleaning).

I bought American paint (wrinkle plus) and try it myself. By heating a hot gun, you can influence the process of creating wrinkles so that you get closer to the original.
Unfortunately, varnishing is my Achilles heel.
