There's one in the UK...Manual as well...albeit 5 gears. ;)

Love the colour, but would prefer it on a popup targa :)
I concur.....
Interesting to see this pictures. I was considering having my 02+ wheels on my Midnight pop-up painted a darker colour a couple of months ago. I asked Justin on his book tour for his thoughts aswith him being into photography I thought he may have a better eye for these things.... He said it would look **** and a little dissapointed I though mm, oh well.
Having seen these pictures I think I now agree with his opinion. Something of the presence of the car seems to be a little lost with the dark wheels. I know dark wheels are fashionable at the moment and easier at hiding the brake dust/dirt but I think lighter wheels are better on this car for it's stance... Obviously each to their own but nice to see an example rather than going for it and being dissapointed with the result. I have so much trouble with house colour paints too!! Can never seem to "picture" the end result....just not the arty-farty type I guess.....
I agree re the wheels. I think a shade or two darker than standard might look OK, but those look really dark and there's no contrast with the colour of the car. Bit of a let down, in my opinion.
Had the same thought myself but ended up going with the OEM Solaris Silver for my refurb, and haven't regretted it :)
Just picked up this thread. I've got a midnight purple targa with tan leather - 1997 5 speed. Bought it in 2000 and never seen another.

Just got back from our annual 4 week trip across Europe - this year France, Corsica and Spain. Car went like a dream; photo take 6000ft up in the Pyrenees.
There are a few purple targas around!
For UK market and come to think of it every other market except Japan, All midnight purple cars were Targas, its only in Japan where I come across midnight purple as a coupe also. Hence why the thread is about midnight purple coupe; its even more rare as the one in the photo is a facelift car and I have not seen any UK/US facelift cars in that color.
That is gorgeous, what website do you use Sudesh to find all the NSX's for sale in Japan?

Here are some pictures of my midnight purple facelift .The bonnet is finished in carbon weave but its not easy to see in these pictures

It certainly sits flat ...
That looks stunning
Lovely colour and the car looks nicely done Mark
Each to their own but I do hope the trend for downgrading pop-up models to the fixed headlamp look stops soon. IMHO the rear valance possibly looks a bit better but the rest, especially the chunky/heavy looking side sills, is a backward step. Don't get me started on carbon bonnets, I've yet to see one that is even close to actually fitting!
Cheers
Mark
Hi Mark
Could not agree with you more about the carbon bonnet, It has been a real pain in the Backside. It cost a lot of money and to be honest i not that impressed with the quality of fit and manufacture.Ive spent hours adjusting it to get it to fit correctly and im still not happy with it.
The rear valance as far as i know is original 1996.
Mark
Just for interest sake - The car that Sudesh has posted up the pics of is up for auction tomorrow , starting bid 6,000,000 yen . There's also same spec car in Silver at auction also along with a 95 NSX-R which has been passed in the past 2 weeks...... all are grade 4 -4.5 .
Dealer only site - there's usually a lot of NA1 cars up for auction but mostly have been stacked & repaired.
BTW Nick have you seen the STUNNING custom ordered 2003 NA2 Type S on KS Routes yard in Suzuka ? Your's for a paltry 13 mil yen lol. i must admit its like new , one owner , ..... its a lot of tin tho .....
This one ?
Very nice !!
ok, not the best picture location but here's my, as Mark put's it, "downgrade" ;) Nothing is permanent... pop-ups etc all in storage for a future upgrade!!

Very nice !!
Looks amazing Gary. Certainly the best modded NSX I've seen in the UK regarding, OE look, bonnet fit and overall job.
Cheers,
James.
So have you managed to get your paint issues sorted now?
Would be interested to know if the film did cause the paint to crack?
Olly
