Nice simple mod if you have the Paint/Lacquer laying around, as cost is really only time and £1.39 for the sticker.
Otherwise worth buying the OEM cap from Andy at VTEC Direct:)

Sudesh,
I have been researching Xenon/HID upgrades and have been emailing a very helpful guy at DTA. Did you change both beams or just the dip? Apparently, it is necessary to slightly enlarge the "sockets" by a mm or so to take the larger HID beams? Whom did you deal with in Germany and why there? Any of your usual expert advice would be very welcome.
BTW I see you have an Antrim plate - where are you based since I am from north Down and go back a couple of times a year?
Cheers,
David
Hi,
I live in Co Derry, I have owned that number for 15 years and have corresponding numbers on other cars.
I just went with the dipped beam as I dont think HID/Xenon is needed on full beam. I didnt have to enlarge anything to install the bulbs, they were a nice fit.
The only thing that you do alter is the black plastic caps that screw on over the bulbs, you need to cut out a hole to take the HID wires that come from the bulbs to the ballast, the kit comes though with a water proof seal/plug that fits nice and snug in the cut out. This is easily reverted back to standard also as the plastic caps are cheap to replace.
I bought them from a contact I have in Germany because from doing some research, they make the best kits, and I was buying them in bulk so got good discount too lol
I bought two Apexcones from the US, they work out a little ove 200 US plus tax etc, ecxellent quality and no need to enlarge anything.
Thanks Sudesh, they look like a massive improvement over the OEM set up. Its something I am seriously thinking of upgrading to, the only thing stopping me is whether you have to declare this to the insurers and I'm trying to keep my car OEM as possible.
I noted the side lights look quite blueish?
Here is a better pic of the LED side lights, [blue car was removed], and lights look spot on, basically picked these to match up with the HID's in color.

I havent drove my NSX in 4 months, so with the good spell of weather I decided to take it out. I noticed that on start up and before driving it would take 15mins or more for the temp to rise and then upon driving the temp needle would fall to almost cool.
So started first by draining the coolant system, once the coolant was drained I removed the induction system, pretty starignt forward for me, anyone with the OEM box has a little more work to do but straight forward also.

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0262.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0263.jpg
The induction out of the way you can now see the the location of the thermostat which is just below the throttle body
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0264.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0266.jpg
I then remove a few item to make the access to the 2 bolts that secure the inlet pipe to the engine
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0268.jpg
There are just 2 bolts holding the thermostat housing in place and once removed the housing come free
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0269.jpg
One free you will the thermostat in its place
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0270.jpg
There is a little tiny metal catch at the top of the thermostat and with a pair of needle noe pliers I took hold of that and stat came fee nicely
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0271.jpg
With the the stat removed it was easy to see the problem
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0272.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0273.jpg
I have a new OEM stat which is slightly different to my old one
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0257.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0258.jpg
So everything in reverse
Attach the new seal which came with the thermostat keeping the small single tab to the top as marked on the stat
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0276.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0277.jpg
In the housing you will see a small groove to where the stat fits and indicates the right way up
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0278.jpg
New thermostat in place and gentle settle it in
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...t/SAM_0282.jpg
All you have to do now is replace everything in reverse and bleed the fill the coolant system!!:)
I tested my car earlier and the car now heats up in about 5 to 8 mins and stays at the correct temp when driving.
Just going to clean and detail the engine bay at the weekend.
:)
Spooky, this is on my to do list tomorrow.
More useful information - Torque settings and bleed procedure in section 10 of the workshop manual:

I also replaced both, bolts's/Flange with new OEM ones. One had a little corrosion on it and for the sake of 50p each, worth doing.
Thanks for that Sudesh, great step by step guide. It could come in handy one day. I didn't realised how accessable it was! :)
Another nice write up, Sudesh.
Looks like you already replaced some of the coolant hoses as well.
Very clean TH butterfly and I love the balck Supra and Red NSX in the background...
Regards,
Kaz
Hi Kaz,
Yeah I did my coolant hoses last year and only done about 300miles since then, I also cleaned up the throttle body and butterfly at the same time was fairly clean anyway. Supra is getting a professionaly detailed at the weekend and 02 NSX is in for some work/checks.
Started work on a 2002 car I received.
First thing I looked for was noise form the aspirator, although I couldnt hear anything I took a visual look, to which there I could see a build up through the vent
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0304.jpg
So took took the console out
On taking it out I noticed the gear knob was not seated correctly
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0311.jpg
Console removed
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0312.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0313.jpg
With the console removed this is what I'm after
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0314.jpg
Once unbolted signs are pretty obvious, along with build around console vent
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0315.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0317.jpg
Dismantling the aspirator, you can see the build up
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0319.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0320.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0321.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0322.jpg
To clean the aspirator, I used combination of Pressure Air, Meguiars cleaning swabs and micro fibre cloth for lifting static debris
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0326.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0328.jpg
With the console out I noticed tracking of the LED Alarm light was not great and was visible from the passanger side hanging below the centre tunnel.
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0308.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0309.jpg
I tidied this up and tracked the wire inside the tunnel, away from the hand brake mechanism and tucked into the console retaining bracket.
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0330.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0331.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0333.jpg
With the AC controller removed I checked the board and capicators for damage. Interesting to see they changed the color of the knobs lol
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0334.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0335.jpg
Board removed, and its looks all brand new! But as Kaz mentioned, capacitors can give up anytime depending on use and so forth
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0339.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0340.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0341.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0342.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0343.jpg
I found that there was a strange noise coming for drivers side window, not the usual pop or crunch from a window being out of line but a funny dragging and banging. [Hard to explain]
So with the door card removed, I immediately noticed the cable.socket for the wing mirror was hanging free and the window would catch this on opening and closing
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0354.jpg
After inspection, it was clear to see the socket was damage and the retainer that hold the socket to the door cannot be used to secure it. Also someone tried to mask it up at one stage.
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0359.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0360.jpg
Masking removed
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0363.jpg
With the tape duct removed, I didnt have much options to secure the plug without changing it. So I covered the plug in sound deadning so it wouldnt rattle or scuff the door, then used a tie wrap to secure it tightly against the door out of the windows travel.
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0364.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0366.jpg
Nice and Snug now and no more nasty sounds!
More to follow:)
Both doors were out a bit
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0347.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0348.jpg
Excellent work so far Sudesh.
It exceeds the high standard of work and attention to detail that I expected from you!
Fuel filler cap was slightly out and very tight to one side, it also wouldnt spring open when the handle was pulled.
So I loosen the 2 hex bolts slightly as it just takes small movements to get it right, I also adjust the spring slightly
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0397.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0399.jpg
Cap now opens like it should and not tight on the right side and nice gaps
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0400.jpg
I noticed a slight rustling noise and squeek coming from the the wiper motor area.
So I removed the top cowl assembly to get a better look
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0378.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0380.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0381.jpg
The noise was coming from a combination of old debris/bits of leaves etc, also the joints on the wiper motor arms were quite dry.
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0379.jpg
I cleared out any debris and greased the joints, and while I was there I polished up the area. I also noticed there was a yellow clip on the wrong way and one missing. So I turned it up the right was and from my spares added the missing clip. [cowl must have been off in the past]
All nice and clean and no more noises

Love it!
Your fault finding / solving ability is second to none Sudesh!
The quarter panel shots there show that the paintwork responded well to that machined coat of Meguiars liquid wax that I gave it. Nice reflective finish.
There are a few swirl marks that I need to machine out though!
Drive shaft boot inspection
Quite a bit of build up on the boot whuch is quite normal depending on the road conditions the car is used in.
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0469.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0469.jpg
In order for me to give the boot a good check I cleaned up the both inner and outer boots as much as possible for a good visual check
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0471.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0472.jpg
http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0473.jpg
After the clean up it I gave them a good inspection and all were perfect!
After speaking to the owner we have decided to go with all the fluids flushed and fill.
So I started with the gearbox, drain plug removed. I like to let the transmission drain till it just dripping lightly, then I will flush the transmission with the Honda MTF3

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...X/SAM_0466.jpg
Fill plug and drain plug now removed
