Put thin smear of petroleum jelly on area plate to be stuck to - I've done this before with GB plates for continental motoring. Should come off again easily enough.

My car seems to have suffered the same accident as Simon's ;) . It looks much better but I will put it back on as soon as the specialist parts from Japan arrive Officer!

Everything that was behind the number plate holder now looks a little exposed! Is this ok?

I think it probably is, some car hae been running that way for years.
