Not so sure about a 4x4.
But in the 1st photo it certainly has the look of a pick-up truck about it!!!!
I'm (very pleased to say) don't know the difference between a ute & a pick-up.....aren't we getting into semantics here?!
The NSX-R wheel mythbusting is toward the end of this thread... http://www.nsxcb.co.uk/testvb/showth...ghlight=wheels
The ride height is only effected if the diameter of the new wheel/tyre combo is different to the standard combo. Larger diameter equals taller (ride height) and taller gearing... both bad. The gap between the tyre and wheel arch will also vary slightly, the larger wheel/tyre combo reduces this gap a smidge.
I love the all doors, boot, bonnet etc open pics, especially from directly side on, but if you think that Rocco's car looks a bit on tip toes it's a bit of a visual trick as the larger wheel/tyre combo raises the whole car but reduces the wheel to arch gap.
Tony, what tyre sizes have you fitted to the wheels?
Cheers
Mark
Not semantics Ian but colloquialism, a pick-up in the uk is more than likely a commercial derived vehicle, where a ute is an Australian derived word and they are normally car derived pick-ups such as Holden's Maloo

The tryes fitted are 245/40/18 rear 215/35/18 fronts. I dont get the joke in regards to the "pick up" or the "4x4". I honestley thought that i left these type of comments back on the Porsche /Lambo/Fezza forum.Infact i only mentioned the other day on the Porsche forum that they should take a page out of the Nsx forum, maybe i was wrong.Sometimes some of the posts remind me of the days when people used to worship statues as Gods but the statues have gone and cars have replaced them.I love my cars like everyone elese but i dont worship them!
Hey Rocco,
This is something that seems to have been carried over from the US NSX site, Prime.com. They have a passion about putting oversized wheels onto the NSX (some have 19/20 combinations) and then dropping the suspension to remove the 'gap' left above the tyre. Very few UK cars get lowered due to our dreadfully pot holed roads!
Its more a visual comment as the low profiles and black wheels you now have only go to make the OEM gap look larger.
At the end of the day, this is now your NSX and do with it as you see fit and what gives you pleasure. Not everyone will agree/like what you do and please dont get over sensitive to light hearted humour, which is simply what these comments are.
Now go and take it for another good drive with your mate and continue to enjoy the experience Honda provided.
regards, Paul
