Hamilton & Palmer Immobiliser

I'm thinking about replacing the Hamilton & Palmer immobiliser which was installed in my NSX when it was new in 1995. It's the type which has a key/dongle which you have to insert in a slot in the dash before starting the engine. Does anybody have any experience with doing this and modern alternatives?
