Couldn’t take lots of photos while my hands were covered in oil
dealing with lots of rocker arms, etc so just the end result.

All four cam shafts removed, holder plate and cam holders are
now soaked in the cleaning solution.

Will inspect the cam shaft in detail later.
Considering more than 100K miles covered, yes,
some of the cam shaft surface coating were already gone but
no heavy markings so should be still in very good condition.

VTEC spool valve removed, rocker shafts out of the engine and
all 12 LMA out of their pockets.
All rocker arms grouped at their original position.

Even with this high mileage,
all LMA were still smooth and not sticky.
We can no longer obtain the old style LMA so
I can’t confirm the spring fatigue against the
new one but still felt reasonably strong.

Probably it was helped by being as the every day car
and also replacing the engine oil regularly.

So, pretty much all of the parts were removed and
ready for the long hours cleaning session.

Although I had the time,
decided not to start the cleaning process today.

I don’t want letting the clean bare metal surface to be
exposed to the air and the humidity after thoroughly
cleaning them and I would rather keep the old oil film
on the surface as I’m not going to be able to work on
this engine until next week.

See you all next week although I may post in other
forums or different categories in the meantime.
