Preparation for the compression check
before start of the Engine Refresh.

So much debris even under the IG coil cover so
had to blow them away before removing the IG coils.

Surprised that these spark plugs were not
replaced until now.

The ones at the rear bank were even showing the
rust on the metal body.

The ones at #4 and #5 cyl were covered in thick oil.

Also, all three plugs at the front bank were way too black
compared to the ones at the rear bank.

Not sure when this happened but may be related to the
owner’s comment of loss of about 20% fuel mileage after
some modifications.

The owner told me that the O2 sensor was replaced but
not sure which side so waiting for the answer.
I have spare O2 sensor so may need replacing the front one.

The dark brown marking at the white insulator body.

Normally, it’s the result of corona arching but on this NSX,
some of them showed white deposit with even trace of rust.

I’m not going to bother re-using them as the owner already
brought the new ones with him.

The Rear bank IG coils.

The one at #1 cyl is in really bad condition.

The metal layers are already warping heavily and
eventually, it will cause misfire once it managed to
break the coil wires.

I’ll re-use it this time but if any misfire happens in the
future, first thing to be checked.

Ready for the compression check but ran out of time so
more to follow later.
