Cam shafts removed.

Quite surprised that even at this low mileage,
LMA at #5 intake side was little sticky.

Not enough to remove the rocker arm so will leave it this time.

Typical low annual mileage engine with possibly once a year or
once in two years time engine oil maintenance.

Very dirty for this low mileage.

It is important to change the oil regardless of the
annual mileage especially if you drive in stop and go condition or
running the engine at idle rpm at long period.

Some owners tends to keep running the engine to warm it up
for long period such as more than 5min after starting the engine.

No need unless you are living in continuous below 0degC environment.

You are just generating more blowby gas inside the engine and
making it dirty.

Same thing like driving in the traffic jam or stop and go
driving condition like in the city.

It’s much better if you start moving slowly after
about 1min from starting the engine.

You better pay more attention to the gbox oil especially with
the MT model as the pump doesn’t operate even the engine is running
until your tyre starts moving.

No need to say the importance of cool down mode before parking your car.

In the process of cleaning the seeped oil behind/around
the cover plate.

The proof of low mileage.
The black potting at the CRK/CYL sensor is just melted within the
small area of the body but nothing running down over the cover plate.

In the process of inspecting and cleaning the cam shaft, holder, etc.

More to follow later.

    Hi Kaz,

You said, "No need to say the importance of cool down mode before parking your car." This isn't something that I've really ever considered. What do you recommend as the optimum cool down process?

    Cheers, Mani.

    Hi, Mani.
It’s nothing special. It’s the same when you finish the track session.
On In-lap, you just cruise with very little throttle and brake to cool down the engine, brake, tyre, transmission, etc.

On street, it depends on how you were driving and the driving environment surrounding you before parking any cars.
You just need to create cool down session for about 5 – 15min before parking to lower the temperature of all components.
Just drive gently and don’t use aggressive brake.
