Alignment 02, Final Touch

So, took the car to the alignment place.

I always use JPS Motorsport because I know their platform is
re-calibrated every 6 – 12 months.

Asked the tyre pressure to be left as it was and
checked the SAI figure.

The existing setup was completely wrong.
The only good figure was actually the seized caster.
The fronts were toe-in with positive camber when they
should be toe-out with negative camber.

The rear total toe-in was so much that I now understood why
previous owner had to replace his tyre like every 3K miles when
I managed to cover over 10K miles using the same tyre.
No wonder why I felt very nervous going through the roundabout with
this setup.

As expected, the rear right toe adjuster was very tight but
didn’t cause too much trouble.

Target setup was modified compared to OEM one and
all figures came out quite well.

The seized R & L caster adjusters didn’t cause any issues.
In fact, they were spot on and only 0deg01min difference so
no need to touch them.

After bouncing the car, another SAI check and done.

On the way back, the car now bites into the road properly although
the tyre is still new and so cold that it will take some time before
it can be pushed.

The old Main relay was re-soldered and coating was applied.
Although I placed it on the desk during the meeting with
the owner, I forgot to hand it to him...... D‘oh!

The aspirator fan at the cabin temperature sensor was cleaned.

It was full of dust and making annoying noise.

Massaged small amount of silicone grease at the
right side forward section of the ceiling using the
plastic tool designed for interior panel removal to
minimise the noise as a temporally measure.

The biggest challenge was about to come.....

I managed to use the rain water to wash the car and
after rinsing it thoroughly, started to use the
garden blower to dry it.

As soon as I applied the cold air to the alloy wheel,
the water started to frozen up so I had to stop.

Put the car back in the garage and used oil heater to
dry the car over several hours.

I really like this LBB Pearl colour and it was nice to see
3 NSX at the same time.

Thank you for using my service and
looking forward to working on your NSX again.

Regards,
Kaz

    Hi Kaz,

Would you be able to post a short blog with photos to detail the correct areas to lubricate to aid the alignment process please?

I'm sure I'm not the only one that would appreciate this information. I can relate to your 'bites the road' comment from when I had mine set up post purchase ... correct alignment is absolutely key to having confidence to push the NSX

    Thanks in advance

    regards, Paul
