In the process of cleaning the engine.

Cleaned the excessive amount of liquid gasket used in the past.

I’m now convinced that someone removed the cam holder at least on
the front bank and also very likely to be the same for the rear bank.

Time to clean the purpose build oil pockets holding the black residue including the blowby.

Cleaned the area to this level.

Also, cleaned the old oil inside the bolt thread for each cam holders.

1st stage of cleaning process done on the front and rear bank.

The mating surface of cam holder where you apply the liquid gasket should
be cleaned to this level.

Then, just before applying the liquid gasket,
the surface should be completely de-greased.

As reported earlier, not having fun with the old WP.....

Too much Honda bond was applied (neither required, nor applied at the Honda factory)
and it was just everywhere.

One of the two 12mm bolt was under torque and not tight enough......

On top of this, it seems that the person applied the Honda bond didn’t
dry the area thoroughly or didn’t wait long enough to cure it before filling the coolant.

There were lots and lots of slimy Honda bond residue around the area and
took sometime cleaning them.

Not nice feeling when handling them......
I hope anything went inside the engine and coolant pipes were
flushed out when I rinsed them.

As expected, the two dowel pins were covered in Honda bond.
Took extra time taking them out and cleaning them.

Almost ready to start installing the new parts.

More to follow later.
