Radiator for MX5

Rate this Entry

I should have replaced it while I was carrying out the engine refresh on
the MX5 because the plastic tank was already like brown colour when
it should be dark green but too late......

Based on the feedback on the MX5 Owners Club web site,
contacted the Advanced Radiators.

They also have ebay shop and you can get one at about GBP48 delivered.
I ordered the one directly from their web site at GBP57 delivered.

Considering the OEM price of about GBP140 – 150, it’s a bargain.
Also, I found out that replacing just the small plastic drain plug (which
seemed to have pin hole on my existing one) will cost nearly
GBP10 so not much point in investing into it when you can get not only the
plug but also the new radiator at this price.

As you can expect, the build quality is not at the same level as
the Mazda OEM one but still, it is from NRF which supplies many
aftermarket parts so can’t be bad.

It also comes with 2 year warranty.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to make replacement radiator for
the NSX but my choice for our NSX is the one from Koyo at this stage.

The lift is going to be occupied by another NSX for several weeks so
looks like I need to install this by placing the car on the stand.....
Not looking forward to it..........

Just waiting some extra bits from Japan so hope I can install it soon.
