Too tight... Drive shaft 01

Started to work on another NSX.

Before bringing the NSX to my place, the owner tried to take out the drive shaft by himself but he couldn’t remove the spindle nut.

It seemed that at least one of them was never removed in the past.

Based on my advice, the owner took his NSX to HGV garage and asked them to remove the spindle nut using their heavy duty tool.

Apparently, they ended up applying more than 1,000Nm… Wow…

After I heard this, I knew it would be a massive task to push out the drive shaft from the hub so while the car was still warm, I applied the penetrating oil at the spline and suspension area.

Left them over the weekend to give a good soak and tried the hydraulic puller today.

It didn’t move at all and as I didn’t want to break my tool at this initial stage, decided to leave them for another night.

I applied special soaking method to cover the spline area really well so hope I can push them out tomorrow.

By the way, a message to the owner.

The trigger teeth on both drive shafts looked fairly clean as you can see in these photos.

Will have a closer look if I have managed to push them out from the hub.
