Finally, the heavily corroded stud bolts at the front CAT came off.

Thank you to member PeterW for sharing his past experience.

Based on his advice, I wanted to use the hammering feature of
the power drill to push out the remaining stud bolt stuck inside the
flange, but due to the fact that the flange was also heavily corroded and
already getting thin, I was not comfortable with that method.

So, just used the cobalt drill bit and gradually enlarged the hole until
I can push out the remaining using the pre-set type punch.

I keep several exhaust area parts at my place including the
OEM CAT stud bolts but after what I went through this time,
I’m going to use the standard self lock flanged bolt and nut so that
in the future, if they got corroded, they can be just cut and easily
detach the CAT from rest of the pipe.

Before re-installing the engine, gave a good clean inside the engine bay.

While I have extra space and fuel pressure already being released,
replaced the fuel filter as well.

Always feel strange when you work on the parts from inside the engine bay when
you normally have to work from outside of the car.......

Time to put the engine back in place.

More to follow later.
