Very common on early model NSX.

Oil pressure gauge was showing almost 0kg/cm2 at idle rpm after warmed up.

Even during the test driving session, it was showing only around 2kg/cm2.

I could replace the oil pressure sender unit to the later spec while
the engine is out of the car but the accuracy of this ensor itself is not high any way so
just keep using it.

As long as you have enough oil on the dip stick and not getting RED Oil pressure
warning light, you are very likely to be fine.

The O-ring at the pressure sender unit will be replaced while working on the LMA.







Seems to be common on some of the early model NSX.

The volt meter didn’t show above 14V at idle rpm even no high power
electronics devices were in use.


After talking to the owner, the battery could be about 9 years old so
we are going to replace it with Honda one this time.








The first thing I noticed during the test driving session was
the really annoying noise from the defrost panel.

As seen on many NSX, there was a crack around the sun light sensor.

I hope I can find some time just to stop the noise but it’s going to be really tight….








In the process of removing the calipers and brackets and then
off to Bigg Red for the polymer coating.

The owner was already informed of the bubbling issue we had with another owner but
we’ll see how it goes.


Having difficulty removing the parking brake cable from the bracket.

In the worst case, I can remove the cable together with the bracket but
that means the bracket won’t be covered by the polymer coating.


Hope I can remove it by soaking it with ATF-acetone fluid over night.








Both Front calipers had damage to one of the piston dust boot…..

I managed to push the piston back with my finger so probably
in not too bad condition but not sure whether I can reuse the pistons…..








Once again, the wear indicator of the rear brake pad was installed in the wrong orientation.

It should have been placed at the top for this position/design of caliper.


Unfortunately, I must re-install it in this wrong orientation again during
the reassembly process due to the fact that the pad was already used in this way…..
