ABS Service

Even for the low annual mileage NSX, I strongly recommend flushing the ABS once
a year if your NSX has the classic ABS.

At least, if you ‘exercise’ your classic ABS every time when you take your NSX out
for driving, it will help but the effectiveness is much higher by flushing the system
manually by activating each solenoids.

So, started the service by flushing out the old fluid using ABS SST.

As same as last time, there were lots of air inside the system with more than
200cc recovered from the accumulator so I’m afraid, the accumulator is getting
tired and kept loosing its internal nitrogen gas.

Considering the annual mileage, it is not cost effective to upgrade to the latest ABS
for this owner so just keep using this classic ABS and
replace the accumulator until the ABS pump starts to kick in regularly.

Flushing each solenoids by applying battery voltage.

Cleaned the reservoir to this level after activating all four solenoids before
flushing the accumulator two more times.

While working at the front section of the car, worked on the head light cover as
it was rattling.

Several fixing screws were missing the plastic washer so made replacement by
using heat resistant material.

I’ll adjust the ABS fluid level after activating the ABS pump during the test driving session.

So, just need to wash the car and reset the ECU.
The owner will be collecting this NSX very soon.

I want to work on my MX-5 but another owner is visiting my place immediately after
this NSX so no time......
