Another owner visited my place for a quick Crank Pulley replacement.

I already had the pulley since last September but just couldn’t find spare time convenient for both of us and only managed to arrange the service now

This one is for the MT.
AT has different design/diameter.

It’s always challenging to loosen the pulley bolt on UK based NSX.

Although most of them had its TB service in the past, the bolt was never installed following the specified cleaning/greasing procedure in the past.

With the heat and corrosion, it always requires extra force to loosen it.

So, as soon as he arrived at my place, placed the car on the lift, removed the wheel and applied the penetrating oil to the pulley bolt while it was still warm.

Let it cool down while we were having some coffee and used SST pulley holder and 3/4" tool to loosen the bolt.

The bolt came off without major effort.

Old and New pulleys.

As seen on other NSX, the bolts at the TB lower cover were corroded.

Should be replaced at the next TB service.

Time to use SST pulley holder and torque it to the spec.

Re-install the ACG and A/C belts, tension them to the spec, torque the bolts and nuts, double check the process and started the engine. Done.

Tonight, another NSX is visiting my place and guess what, it is also having its Crank Pulley replaced with some extra services.

Looks like I’m working over the weekend….
