When I checked the VVIS plate for loose screws, I noticed that the TH butterfly was really dirty.
So, asked the owner to let me clean it while the air box was off the car.

Looked like it was never cleaned in the past.

It’s much better now. The black bit in the middle is the black insulator and not the dirt.

PCV valve was also cleaned to this level.
It was full of dirt and covered in sticky black residue.

Warmed the engine up and time to carry out the compression check after the service.

Really pleased with the result. It paid off to spend long hours adjusting the valve clearance.
It’s a shame because I should have been able to listen to the nice engine music but unfortunately, as I cracked the exhaust pipe, it was overcastted by the low pitch exhaust note.

Started putting back rest of the parts back in place.
Applied silicone grease to the IG coil especially for the ones at the rear bank to prevent further corrosion or the misfire.

Also, I always apply small amount of silicone grease around the tube entrance where the spark plug insulator will be inserted.

New gasket at the IG coil cover and again, silicone grease is used here.

While draining the existing engine oil from the oil pan, always pump out extra bit from the top.

About 400cc extracted.
