Despite all these poor previous service works, I’m very impressed with the cleanness of the internal engine parts on this engine.

Probably, one the most clean engine in UK.

With the design of blowby gas passage, earlier model engine will show light brown marking at the front bank.
However, on this engine, it was almost the same between the front and rear bank.

The owner must have been replacing the engine oil regularly.

If you see dark brown marking on your engine parts or at the back of the valve covers, then you have lots of blowby gas and very likely that the engine oil was neglected by the previous owners…….

Another proof of the clean engine and well looked after oil maintenance.
Inside of both valve covers were very clean for this age of NSX.
Very good.

Time to remove the TB, cam holders and cam shafts.
Backed off all of the valve clearance adjuster before removing the cam shafts.

Checked all of the LMA as it was still using the old design.
All of them were still strong and very smooth so no need to replace them at this stage.

Cam shafts removed.

There were bit extra black powder compared to other NSX around the cam pulleys.
Probably the result of low belt tension.

Quite normal to see the melted potting from the CRK/CYL sensor.

The crank oil seal was very clean and dry so will be left as it is.

Will inspect the cam shaft and holders once they are cleaned.

More to follow later.
