CAT and Front Down Pipe 01

While waiting for the liquid gasket to cure, worked on the CAT heatshield for the noise issue.

It would have been easier if I just trimmed the small portion of the horizontal metal bar at the aftermarket diffuser to widen the gap in order to prevent the CAT from scratching against it.

However, I was worried about the long term strength/durability of the metal bar so decided not to do so and went for the more time consuming option.

The fixing bolts for the CAT heat shield were completely corroded and although I tried to break them, it was not possible.

There was a trace of someone tried the similar thing in the past.
At the end, I had to cut through them to free the heat shield.

In order to save as much heat protection as possible, I cut only the small area of the heat shield and filed down any sharp edge.

Used small bolts and nuts from my spares and secured the heat shield back on the CAT.
