Preparing for the compression check.

As always, I don’t want to touch the spark plug after the engine was warmed up
without knowing the state of them so I normally remove and clean them first
when they were cold.

The Front bank …..

and the Rear bank.

All six plugs looked to be fine with low level light brown corrosion so I will re-use them.

Some of the connectors at the Front bank were scratched in the past and
also one of the rear bank one (#3 cyl) was covered in oil for some reason……
Not a big problem....

E
Looking at the state of the rear valve cover......
Even at this stage, I'm not looking forward to washing it later.....
Probably, I’ll need to apply dash of spray paint…..

As seen on many NSX, the IG coil at #1 cyl is not in good shape.
At this stage, there is no misfire so it can be re-used but ideally, best to replace
it with a new one in the near future.

It was heavily corroded and started to peel off the metal plate.
Because it was left like this for many years, the corroded section is already
hardened and the IG coil doesn’t sit square to the valve cover.

More to follow later.
