While looking around the engine, noticed that someone applied too much force at the wrong direction in the past.
There was a bolt missing at the TB Lower cover.
Probably from the previous TB service. It actually cracked the metal bracket behind the oil cooler base.

Huge dent at the Oil pan. I couldn’t place my camera in a good position so it’s hard to tell from this photo on how serious the dent is but really looking bad.

This photo was taken two years ago and although the oil pan was already rusty, there was no sign of dent.

As there is no scratch on the under guard in front of the oil pan, I’m afraid this dent was very likely to be done by human error. Possibly, someone placed the jack under the oil pan to tilt the engine without attaching wooden plank to the base of oil pan.

Very sad to see someone can do this to such a lovely car.

Initially, we planned to replace the oil pan because of the heavy corrosion but now it’s more important to replace it to prevent oil starvation.

In order to replace the oil pan, I must remove the front header from the engine.

The rear end of the front CAT.

I don’t think I’m going to touch this spring loaded bolt and nut so will try to detach it at the front side of the CAT…..
