Annual Service 05 – Health Check

Rate this Entry

As mentioned previously, my Health Check service will cover all of the visual inspection items for the annual service so makes sense to carry it out at the same time.

As this NSX is so clean and at low mileage, I was expecting very little findings during the checks but still found several things.

As our NSX doesn’t have the pollen filter at the entry of the blower motor fan, the dust can build up at the A/C cabin temperature sensor behind the slit next to the ash tray resulting in annoying noise.
There was no noise yet but it was starting to show the build up of the dust and debris.
May be at the next annual service, consider washing the A/C evaporator, apply DIY filter and clean the sensor.

As the fluid level at the CL master cyl reservoir was at max line, I was not expecting to see anything at the pushrod. However, there was tiny amount of fluid like material at the rubber dust seal. Initially, I thought it was some kind of grease so removed the rubber cap and inspected the internal section.
It was hard to tell whether it was the CL (brake) fluid or not so wiped it off and would like the owner to keep eye on the reservoir level. If it changes, there is a leakage somewhere on the CL Hyd system. At this stage, the CL Slave Cyl and CL Hose were fine.

As seen on many NSX, the alignment of the fuel filler door was bit too close to the rear wing panel. The forward section of the lid was almost touching the panel. Keep eye on this until the weather gets warmer before making any adjustments.

As mentioned earlier, I didn’t like the feeling of the tyre using my lowered pressure setup on these tyres so informed the owner and adjusted them back to the OEM setup of 33psi Front and 40psi Rear before going out for the final test driving session.

Activated the ABS, checked the cruise control, shift feeling, etc before heading back to my place. It felt better but still not quite because the Fronts were very old OEM Dunlop with hard shoulder whereas the Rears were replacement non-OEM Dunlop and I actually could push in the side shoulder easily with my finger.
With Yokohama Neova AD-08, you won’t be able to push it in with ease.
Because of this and also the dynamic alignment effects, I was bit nervous driving it so next time when replacing the tyres, please select the tyre with super stiff side shoulder (like AD-08) and consider carrying out the alignment service at the experienced alignment centre as well.

I didn’t like the amount of dust in the air so decided not to wash and dry the car today.
Will be washing it tomorrow.

Time to back up all of the photos and Blog posts and then create the Service Log File.

Thank you for using my service and hope you will have wonderful time with your NSX for many years.

Regards,
Kaz
