SRS Warning Light 01

Rate this Entry

Started to work on another NSX.

The owner reported that all of a sudden, he got the red SRS warning light
on the dash.
It seemed that it happened when he accidentally kicked the panel under
the steering column while trying to get out of the car in a hurry.

He checked the area and although he found lots of extra wires and
some sort of fuse box for aftermarket parts, nothing seemed to be damaged.

The steering wheel is the standard OEM one.

As the first step, checked the SRS main fuse located at
the passenger side wall and it was blown.

Inside the fuse box, it’s the one with yellow cover on top to indicate that
it is SRS related parts.
So, there is a short circuit somewhere on the system.......

I just hope it is not within the SRS controller box itself.

The owner never felt any wet carpet inside the cabin and
I also checked the area around the passenger foot well while
I was in there for checking the fuse.

Having said this, the car was not used regularly and not sure the A/C was
used on the way to my place this time so any leakage from A/C evaporator
would be dried out by now.

Once on the lift, will operate the A/C and see whether the water comes out
properly or not from the drain tube.

In the mean time, the search for the short circuit will start soon once
I’m done with rest of the services.
