Cooling System 01

Based on the recent Health Check Service, started to work on another NSX.

The service menu is something like this;

  • Replace cracked Header tank and unknown condition of the coolant
  • Replace Main Relay
  • Erase old TCS error code
  • Replace damaged TB tensioner bolt seal
  • Re-install Front valve cover properly

As it takes some time to drain the old coolant, started with the cooling system service.

The new (left) and cracked leaky (right) tank.
The original one is already turned into custard like yellow colour.

Lots and lots of crack around the joints and mating surface so no wonder why there were so much leakage around the tank.

If you can no longer check the fluid level without opening the cap, it’s time to replace it. Otherwise, the tank will soon start to crack and leak.

Just waiting for the coolant to drain out from the engine blocks and the centre floor pipes.
