As reported earlier, the owner of the CCU board-B sent one of the Bose speaker AMP as well for the refurbishment.
He reported that there was no sound from the centre speaker and possibly not from the passenger foot well bass but not 100% sure.
So, opened the speaker box and first tested the AMP before working on it.
Although the sound was a little cracking, I managed to listen to the music using the bench system so told the owner that he has other issues on his NSX.
As he needs to install the speaker box any way, he can check the wiring connection while in there.
This board is the uprated one so some of the capacitors were already upgraded but not all of them.
Still, far better than the original green audio spec capacitors as they will 100% guranteed to leak over the time despite being 105degC rated.
Removed all of the old capacitors and started the cleaning process.
The shiny area is the original coating and it has to be removed before going any further.
Replaced all capacitors with the upgraded ones, sprayed conformal coating and at the same time, applied silicone thermal compound on both sides of the four FETs.
Placed the AMP back in the speaker box and then connected another speaker to simulate the Centre speaker condition.
Let the music to play for more than 2Hrs and happy with the result so it is now ready to be returned to the owner.
Now it’s time to work on the power steering EPS controller from another owner…..
Thank you for using my service.
