Took out the Front camber adjuster bolts to apply silicone grease before visiting the alignment platform.
Unfortunately, both R & L Caster adjuster were seized so we’ll see how it goes during the alignment session.
During the Health Check, I noticed small rattle at the FL tierod/rack end. It is either the loose rack end or the internal bush fatigue inside the steering rack.
In order to check this, removed the boot and inspected the connection point between the rack end and the steering rack.
Confirmed that it was caused by the wear at the internal bush and not the loose or damaged rack end.
For non-power steering, it is cheaper to replace the rack than overhauling it so going to leave it as the rattle is still very small.
The owner was concerned about the noise when the pop-up headlight was raised especially at the right side.
While the battery was disconnected, raised the head light assy using the manual method to confirm the movement of the linkage and the motor.
I didn’t feel any changes in the force or stiffness while rotating the knob so just applied some grease and tried with the battery power this time.
Sounded similar to my NSX so hope it is fine for the owner.
Just need to wash the A/C evaporator, create DIY A/C filter and carry out test driving session before visiting the alignment platform and to activate the ABS several times.
Then, the big task of interior noise analysis….
Hope I can visit Silverstone Classic…..
