Silverstone Festival (Classic) 2023 - 01

Started generating this article soon after attending the event as received email from the organiser for the feedback on the event experience.

These are my personal view and already replied back to the organiser with simplified version.

The last time I attended this event was in 2019 so 4 years ago.

The event for 2020 was cancelled for the obvious reason and for 2021 and 2022, I was still not comfortable enough to mix with large crowd especially using the very busy bus ride between the National and International paddock.

I’m quite sure the atmosphere and what to expect from the event would have changed since 2019 and in fact, the name itself is now Silverstone ‘Festival’ and not ‘Classic’.

This name change alone may explain what I felt on this occasion but I’ll touch on this later.

With busy life, only booked for Sunday and despite changeable weather, had really good time especially with the friendly people at the S2000 - S2KUK Owners Club.

I’m a member of few clubs including the S2KUK one.

Just want to say big thank you to all the S2KUK officers and the members for making such wonderful time and even on the setup day Thursday.

Always welcoming all Honda owners/models and enjoyed the campsite event – Yakushi last year. That was my first event with them.

So, no brainer to once again ask them if I can bring my NSX to their club stand.

Also, thank you to sorepaws on here for always experimenting with the new events and sharing his experience through here, his FB page, etc.

Have limited experience with S2000 but there are many things that can be shared on the technical and chemical knowledge among many models so always try helping them.

In fact, I helped them on the setup Thursday to assemble the club marquee.

For someone like me, team spirit is important that despite the busy life, I would always try making spare time for them.

By the way, bit surprised with the use of new Silverstone Ticket App for entering the Silverstone circuit even on the setup day….

Didn’t want disturbing their nice club display so asked to let me park somewhere on the side but they were very kind to put me at the front.

Hope it attracted some of the spectators visiting the club stand.

Nice meeting some of you on here.

As discussed on the day and also on here, would love to join the planning for doing another meeting in 2024.

Always love this white S2000.

The different colour contrast is just spot-on for good photo opportunity.

In fact, later, this car and the owner were show cased at the My Motor World stage with Mike Brewer.
Lots of audiences.

Loved this blue one as well.
Wanted to know more about this specific car but couldn’t find the owner….

Sorepaws’s NSX nicely blending in with the rest and the colour of the marquee.

Great display and lots and lots of questions and admiration as always.

Took many photos of racing cars, other marquee, etc but with changeable weather, didn’t come out well.
