EPS Controller Service 02

Rate this Entry

The relay contacts were severely burnt and I had a feeling that this won't be the only issue.

The commutator on the EPS rack could be covered in black fretting and causing extra resistance or quite often, the rack boot got split allowing moisture to enter resulting in severe rust.

Not an easy task drilling extra holes on the delicate circuit board and scraping off the saolder resist to create extra pads.

Can't create proper conductive through-hole so some consideration required.

As this unit was opened in the past, don't know what has been done to it but at least checked all FETs, Tr, etc as much as possible.

Done and returned the unit to the Honda dealer.

In parallel, working on the SRS unit for another owner.
