Super loose TB tension…..

After removing the TB, you can see it was hitting the cover plate as well though fairly normal with loose TB and seen on many NSX.

The marking on the WP bolt (1st photo) is the same as the one used on the Oil pump (2nd one).

This means that this WP must be the original one….

Considering the age of this NSX, one of the longest served WP in history.

One of the reason why I wanted to carry out Eng Refresh on this NSX immediately.

Later, after removing the TB, spun it with the hand and as expected, the internal bearing was making some scratching noise.

Glad we are replacing it this time.

Still, the impeller looked very clean so at least, the coolant was replaced at regular interval despite the low mileage.

Couldn't remove the oil level tube without first cleaning the area a bit.

It should be silver aluminium look.

Before backing off all of the adjuster screws, measured the existing valve clearance.

Front bank:
#4 cyl: all within the spec.
#5 cyl: both exh sides were too wide and out of spec.
#6 cyl: one of the exh side was too wide and out of spec.

Rear bank:
#1 cyl: both intake sides were too wide and out of spec.
#2 cyl: only one intake side was within the spec. Rest of the three were too wide and out of spec.
#3 cyl: both exh sides were too wide and out of spec.

So, apart from front intake side, pretty much poor adjustment but because of the VTEC valve timing and only around 200rpm cranking speed, the compression data was not too bad.
