Eng Refresh, Health Check, etc 36

With the amount of coolant went into the system, it was easy to tell that there would be very little air pockets left in the system.
However, majority of the coolant hoses were left without being replaced this time.
As a pre-caution, carried out the standard procedure of running the fluid through each bleeding plugs using the clear tube.

As expected, probably not required as there were very little air left in the system.

Silicone grease applied to the metal body of the IG coils and just tiny amount coated at the entrance of the tube.

After hand cranking the engine like 100 times, cranked the engine using the starter without the plugs installed.
Almost immediately, the low oil pressure warning light disappeared so safe to install the plugs now.

And the fireup.
Fast idle rpm within the spec so no leakage after servicing the valve.

And waited for the thermostat to open and let the rad fan to kick in.

Need to fireup the engine several times for the remaining process such as compression check, base idle air check, re-learn all fuel trimmer, etc but already having good feeling about them.

Before the Eng Refresh, I told the owner that I was quite surprised that it passed the emission test in this state.

Although no CEL, I could feel vibration from misfire, hesitation and the exhaust fume was very strong/rich.
Even the spark plugs at the rear bank were covered in carbon.

Not sure it was all down to the wrong timing at the rear exh cam or all three IG coils at the rear bank but at least, the engine runs very smoothly and without that tappety LMA noise.

Hope to finishing that terrible condition front brake calliper and start moving the car off the lift as the other NSX is sitting next to this one for weeks now….

I need a day off….
