The VSS.

If replacing this on the car, I normally remove just the 12mm bolt and slide out the entire VSS long-long shaft body as it's not easy dealing with the metal protector shield.
The shield is sandwiched between the VSS and Gbox case by two 10mm bolts.

Must line up the holes between all three parts under almost blinded section.

On this Gbox, the 12mm bolt was completely seized and just didn't want moving.

Too scared of another extra delay by searing off the bolt but since there is plenty of room with Eng/gbox out the car, just removed the 2 x 10mm bolt instead.

The existing VSS is the fly lead style but I prefer the later spec one for reliability reason.
Discussed with the owner about whether to use OEM or aftermarket one.
OEM one then.
Eng loom has long enough play and no problem without the fly lead.

I think I'm going to leave this audio head unit for now.

So much damages including the flex cable section and connectors.

Can power it up but no pre-amp signal output.
