Now the engine bay.
Due to the extra heat, normally, the corrosion on the pipes in this area is worse than others so I was ready for the extra time but didn’t expect it to be hours…..
The worst one was this one and most of other pipes were corroded as well.
Polished carefully as I didn’t want to create another leaking point.
It is very important to regularly replace your coolant based on the manufacture's recommended interval to prevent worst corrosion at the cooling system.
The interval is different for the factory filled coolant and thereafter.
Also, after 8 -10 years, you better plan to replace all of the cooling system hoses as you won't be able to check the level of corrosion until you remove each hoses and there are several hoses that can burst after these period.
When I replace the hose, I use silicone/rubber grease on the pipes so it will further help in preventing the worst corrosion for a long period.
As I already spent extra time any way, decided to polish the thermostat cover a little.
New thermostat installed and finally, the hoses at the engine bay were installed together with the new header tank and the cap.
The remaining two hoses at the Eng oil cooler won’t be installed until after the WP is installed to enable extra room during the TB service.
Now I can get back to TB/WP/Valve service from tomorrow….
