Another owner with DC Header hitting the rear sub frame.

While exchanging the email with the owner in preparation for the service, he told me that he heard rattling noise from the rear.

Initially, I thought it was from the aftermarket L-side drive shaft as some owners reported rattle/play even new out of the box.

In fact, there is indeed some rattle/play only after covering several thousands miles.

However, talking to the owner in much more detail, the noise only happened when going over the hump and then no longer happened.

If it was from the driveshaft, it would happen all the time especially when going back and forth, like when parking the car so very unlikely to be the cause.

When placed the car on the lift, I noticed the marking on the rear header and also the crack at the rear mount.

With the age, all four mounts will sag. You will notice significant change in geometry at the right side mount.

Other mounts will also show cracks.

Many aftermarket headers are fine when the car is new but quite often, it will hit the rear sub frame with the rear bank header resulting in metal noise.

Eventually, the noise will disappear because the header was pressed hard enough and deformed or the flange at the exh port shifted upwards creating enough clearance.

Without replacing some of the tired mounts, no point in doing something as one must go through the full process of re-alignment of eng/gbox assy so for now,
going to leave it.

Strange way of installing the passenger footwell speaker box.

The spacer should be at the other side.....

After remvoing the passenger SRS unit, found these.....

Where all these extra wires came from..........

Slowing me down at lot when I don't have much time left...........
