Cooling Sys, ABS Upgrade, etc 17

The owner brought the old spec OEM fuel filter and I actually prefer this style over the latest one.

The fuel came out of the existing filter.
Bit of debris with darker brown colour but far better than some of the engine that I serviced before.

The only problem was that someone used the wrong spec bolt (without the washer) at the U-shaped holder that I couldn't remove the filter body.
Had to remove the entire bracket together with the filter.

New one installed and double checked that none of the pipes and hose bands are hitting anything.

I think I found the cause of the dry coolant marking around the front cyl head and down to the block along the #6cyl area.

Addition to the pin hole on the narrow coolant hose, there was dry coolant marking at the temp sender unit.

Asked the owner to replace it with a new one.

I really didn't want starting the engine just before removing the oil pan but if missed this opportunity,
I won't be able to do so for quite some time while dealing with the coolant hose, ABS upgrade and TH body so just fired up for a few minutes.

It sounded much better than before but probably it's just my ear knowing that the valve clearance is now properly adjusted.

The piston is still at the wrong timing so won't recover the full power.

The owner is using this Odyssey PC925 battery with the aftermarket battery holder.

The holder has a foam at the top plate and because it was compressed a lot over years, it was fairly sticky.

When removed, it actually pulled out the battery top cover as well.

Interesting to see how it allows the gas to escape.

It's AGM with pure lead so it charges and discharges differently compared to the ordinary battery like Honda one but most of the modern battery conditioner can handle it.

The owner is going to send me the new heatshiled as it got quite rusty.....
