Took better photo to show the extent of the corrosion at the outboard joint parts.

All these brown markings/stain are rust.

The fresh grease will do its job allowing these parts to be re-used but due to its unique design of using roller at both ends,
the drive shaft is one of the weakest point on our NSX so must be refurbished regularly.

Normally, you would see square like wear markings when the grease broke down too far but on this NSX, interesting shape was observed…..

Can be re-used as it's not that deep.

Even the stainless can get rust if in contact with rusty surface for prolonged period.

The rust followed by corrosion even managed to get inside the internal wall of the roller ring where the pin bearing meets.

Same for the spider…

All of these are rust and scorching markings.

No such drama at the inboard joint.

Almost no wear markings inside the roller as well.
