While waiting for the coolant to drain, started to remove several parts for TB service.

However, the grease splashed from the outboard joint of right drive shaft was getting everywhere that I decided to remove it and clean the area first.

Also, I don’t like to see my cloth and floor getting dirty.

It’s one thing strictly controlled at the race team.

From the state of the spindle nut, it looked as if the right drive shaft was never removed for about 20 years.

Because of this, the spline was seized to the hub and didn’t want to move at all even using the hydraulic puller.

The spline was soaked with penetrating oil for a few days now but as it is sticking out horizontally, the oil couldn’t stay there effectively without creating the dam to submerge the spindle.

So, here comes the advice from our member Graham.

The mixture of Acetone and ATF.

About to be shaken, not stirred.

As Acetone will evaporate almost immediately, I didn’t know whether it will make any difference by leaving it for a while or not so just applied it several times every 15min or so while working on other things.

I didn’t want to make a hole on my floor so placed the metal tray under the hub….

So, after few hours, decided to give it a go with the hydraulic puller again and finally, it started to move.

Last year, when I looked at this NSX for the Health Check, I wrote on the report that someone was desperate to work on the drive shaft or the intermediate shaft because of the markings on the intermediate shaft bracket.

Probably someone tried to work on it and gave up because of the seized spline at the hub.
