Brake OH, DR shaft, etc 10

Kept cleaning and inspecting the heavily corroded brake calipers for hours/days now so in order to change the rhythm, decided to work on something completely different.

The owner bought the GROM USB3 device and wanted me install it.

As I have never installed GROM one, first, tested it on the bench with the head unit from another owner to get the idea on how it would be used on our NSX.

If using the optional features connected to the EXT1 & 2 ports, you will need getting use to switching between the 'USB' and 'AUX' modes (you will hear
kind of strange voice through your speaker on which mode being selected....) but other than that, nice piece of kit.

If you already have something (such as USA Spec PA11-HON, etc), personally, it's not something I would be encouraged to replace the existing one but
if you have nothing at the moment, strong candidates to be considered.

Unlike the USA Spec PA11-HON, the GROM adaptor loom is very short so inevitably, it has to be installed close to the CD changer port at the back of the
head unit or breakout loom connector behind the left side seat or inside the boot.

As the owner may use the optional I/F cable such as the Bluetooth, hands free, etc connected to the EXT1 & 2 ports (the owner haven't decided what to do so no optional cables purchased yet), the owner wanted to have access to the GROM unit with ease later.

After several reviews and pre-installing the removed interior panels, for now, decided to place it just in front of the Fan Control Unit (FCU).

Could have placed below/under the FCU but there were several wires there (aftermarket ones) and considering the shape/edge of the GROM box,
decided not to place it there.

I will use 3M Dual Lock so that it can be removed in the future once the owner decides what to do with the optional features.

GROM device comes with well shielded USB Type A extension cable so that the user doesn't need to connect/disconnect the cable at the unit.

Good idea for preventing the USB connector on the unit body being damaged by frequent connection/removal of the cable.

The user will be connecting one's own USB cable (or memory stick) at the end of GROM extension cable so the entire cable length could get very long.

For this reason, I decided not to drill a hole at the bottom of the centre arm rest glove box (like I normally do for the USA Spec PA11-HON installation)
especially without knowing the future decision on the optional cable requirements.
