As the condition of the calipers were so bad, I thought there was no point in refurbishing or coating it by Bigg Red so
looked for the replacement on RockAuto but they didn't have anything in stock.

As I have spare full refurbished Rear set that even has all new internal parts for the parking brake mechanism,
I thought about using it but when it comes to the brake caliper, I think it's better to invest in the later spec larger one than
the original spec of smaller set.

While the brake pad can be shared between the two spec, the later larger caliper will force you to replace with the larger brake disc so
extra cost addtion to the expensive caliper/bracket cost but the way to go considering the brake balance.

The ABS setting won't be correct for the larger caliper/disc setup but to be honest, I don't think I would trust the 1st and 2nd gen. ABS any way.

So, at the moment, my recommendation is, don't invest too much on these calipers because the damages were already done.

I just hope I can refurbish them and the owner can keep using them while looking for the larger later spec calipers and
get new disc (and pad) when the time comes.

By the way, just found out that the Bigg Red is temporarily closed down due to majour refurbishment of their workshop.

You can't send in the calipers until mid/Mar.

This means you won't get your calipers back until April.

It would have been nice if they told me about it as they knew that I was going to send the caliper to them but
my schedule was also got delayed due to extra weeks required for the services on the last NSX so
can't blame them as I'm not the only customer.

Still, looking at the state of these calipers, I don't know whether there would be enough metal left if shot blasted and soaked in the corrosion inhibitor fluid as
these will take out some of the metal and I'm not sure how much metal will be left at the dust boot seating groove.

Started the initial inspection on one of the rear caliper......

I think there is enough metal left although I may struggle to set the boot seat….

Not sure about the front ones….

Fingers crossed….
