Found the hidden USA Spec PA11-HON iPod adaptor wrapped in the soft cloth behind the seat.

Not sure it's good idea to wrap it like that.

May be the metal body is acting as heatsink??? although it doesn't get that hot while in use.....

Looking at the case design, it's the old spec one, same as mine.

I think I'm using mine for like 10 years now.

Still no problem and for my purpose, no need replacing or upgrading to something different.

After discussing with the owner, decided to place the unit inside the centre glove box so that if required, dip sw as well as the AUX port can be accessed with ease.

While installing it, found some sort of aerial cable dangerously close to screw, bolt, fastener, etc so decided to relocate it.

It was already hidden by the metal firewall so should not make big difference in reception distance by relocating it on the top edge of the metal panel.

Since the centre console was out of the way, cleaned the A/C CCU cabin temperature sensor as well.

It was covered in full of dust, hair, etc.

Quick check of USA Spec PA11-HON using the CD mode of OEM head unit.

Unlike another wire inside the centre glove box, the cable for the PA11-HON can be disconnected by removing this grommet at the bottom plate.

The grommet is there to prevent something from dropping as the DIN connector is much larger than the cable diameter.

Done.
