For the first time, I had to use 'bridge' method to install the replacement OP AMP that is tiny module.

I didn't want to go any further without knowing that I have recovered at least the signal level and quality that I decided to partially re-assemble the head unit and test it on the bench.



At least, I was happy with the output level and sound quality so decided to go further.

Carrying on....

I already spent far too much time servicing this head unit……



















The uprated OP AMP.

It may look large in this photo but it's only about 4x4mm device and you need to solder 8 terminals within that space…

There are at least 3 extra hard wires soldered to this module....



















Looks like someone applied far too much contact cleaner to the VR module.

It was wet and dripping to the other board.....

















The cassette module cleaned.
















The power I/F board refurbished.



















The display module disinfected and cleaned.
