The thermostat cover initially looked like this but now cleaned to this level.

Didn't like the heavy corrosion of the two bolts (right pair) so replaced with my used spare set (left ones).

New thermostat that the owner brought.




















Re-surfaced the housing and new thermostat installed.















Some sort of black coating around the linkage of TH body.

Because it was kind of shiny reflection, I thought it was the grease but when I touched it, it was hard material.

Not sure of the purpose but not obstructing the movement so going to leave it although it's everywhere…..

Now that I looked at the black tape like material inside the eng bay with some sort of black paint partially sprayed, I wonder it was this spray and nothing to do with TH linkage application.....



















What a dirty TH body….

It's 100% one of the dirtiest one.

No way I can clean the passage without removing the idle air adjust screw so replaced with new one.
















So much better now.
