New CRK/CYL sensor installed but found that part of the cables were squashed in the past.

The box had some damages so either it was done during the delivery from US 4 years ago or after that.

Looked like not deep enough to damages the actual wire and sensor checked fine so just the sleeve damage and thus, going to use it.

VVIS butterfly screw torque checked.

Only one of them didn't move at all.

Rest of them (11 of them) rotated just a tiny bit but nothing unusual and nowhere near to the loose status.

Should be fine for years to come.

Looks like OEM filter was mainly used as I didn't see the typical sand like debris in here when aftermarket one was in use.

Having said this, quite surprised with how little the blowby oil was trapped at the bottom chamber for this mileage.

Also, normally, the gasket would stick so hard to the chamber that I have to use ceramic scraper and even oil stone to create smooth surface before installing the new gasket.

With this one, both gaskets came off with ease.

Very likely that someone opened this in the past or the owner was using high rpm band for a prolonged time that majority of the oil was sucked back into the engine.

Will send the INJ for cleaning this week.

Hope the owner is reading this as I need the updates on ABS like now (Sunday) as it could lead to another long delay for other owners waiting in the queue…..

i always suspected there would be oil puddling in the bottom of the plenum chamber... it would explain the occasional smoke when, how shall we say, 'enthusiastically' joining a motorway....

is there anything to be gained by taking off and cleaning it out, or just tolerate the occasional higher rev smoke?.... (apart from it getting a good clean, hoover out the engine valley and a general check over!)

if so i may have this years mini-winter project!

    Hi, britlude.

Majority of the oil trapped inside there is from the blowby chamber at the front valve cover (if you have the black one from the factory) and since it will make the intake area, INJ port, piston top, etc dirty, best cleaning it at some point but doesn't have to be frequent unless you track your NSX.

If you track NSX regularly, you are better off installing the oil catch can as you will lose precious power (unless you have special chemical/method to gain extra power or prevent pre-ignition by burning it.... sounds familiar......) although some of the track will force the driver to install it by regulation any way.

The white smoke while accelerating hard (VVIS open) is very likely to be the oil from this chamber but if you saw it under fast right turn and if your valve cover is black from the factory, then it's the oil from the front blowby chamber at the valve cover.
Honda changed the routing of blowby gas for the red valve cover for this reason.
