Have been working on another NSX for 7 -8 days now and already in preparation for taking the eng/gbox out of the bay so hope I can catch up updating the blog before the next stage.

This NSX was delivered to me on the transporter and it took several days from where the owner lives so went through many different weather conditions.
Even without being driven, it was covered in lots of debris so must wash it first before I can apply the panel protection to prevent scratch markings.

However, before washing it, the first thing I noticed was the smell of coolant and also way too low voltage reading at idle rpm.
It was also making some sort of whine noise from mid/low section of the engine bay but couldn't figure out the source.

The coolant was already leaking from the header tank in the eng bay due to crack at the tank body.
Also, there was suspicious coolant marking at the overflow tube so looked like at one point, there was so much air in the system.

Addition to these, there were many wet markings at the upper side of the radiator. They were all still wet so looked like ongoing leakage.
I couldn't check the lower side because there was a flat metal plate covering the entire bottom section of the front compartment (like NSX-R) so simply couldn't see anything.

The owner told me that the radiator was 'refurbished' (but I don't know what can be done with the OEM design…) so although the wet markings looked like the coolant, there was a possibility of some sort of chemical used to 'refurbish' the radiator that it may not be leaking.

Therefore, took several samples from different wet markings and burnt them.

Now I'm 100% confident that all of them are coolant and thus, it's leaking despite some sort of 'refurbishment' was carried out in the past….

So, after discussing with the owner on from where to source the replacement (UK or US), placed the order for the Koyo Racing Radiator from US.
Hope it will arrive within this month.
